South Central Paediatric Diabetes Network
Vision
This network brings together key stakeholders in the provision of diabetes services including clinicians, commissioners and service users in the South Central.
Diabetes remains one of the biggest health challenges in the UK today, and there is a huge increase in the number of people, particularly children, being diagnosed with the condition. Through this paediatric network, we aim to support the commissioning and provision of high quality, affordable services which are accessible and consistent across NHS South Central.
South Central Paediatric Diabetes Network is split into two – north and south. The North Group is chaired by Dr Julie Edge, Consultant Paediatrician at Oxford Radcliffe Hospital. The South Group (Wessex) is chaired by Dr Edward Hind, Consultant Paediatrician at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Foundation Trust.
Both network groups meet quarterly and the primary focus is to ensure that there is continuous and measurable improvement in the quality of care provided for children and young people with diabetes across the South Central area.
