Brief description of unit 

Scarborough Hospital covers a large geographic area from Whitby up north to Bridlington down south and the Wolds including Driffield and Malton.

Paediatric diabetes clinics are run by the full team including the Paediatrician, Paediatric DSN and Paediatric Dietician.

There are currently 5 clinics held per month and these cover Scarborough, Malton, Whitby and Bridlington, looking after a total of 85 patients.

The age range of patients is from birth up to 18 years, however young people are offered a choice at 16 years of age to continue to stay with the paediatric service or move over to adult care.
