Research and evaluation
NHS Diabetes has a specialist in-house research and evaluation team. The team exists to help NHS Diabetes to work in a reflective, evidence-based and results-orientated way by benchmarking services, evaluating the impact of our work, supporting valuable external service evaluations, and capturing and sharing lessons for the future. Our on-going and completed evaluations include:
- Exploring the impact of the inaugural NHS Diabetes national diabetes inpatient audit on participating trusts
- Knowledge and information repository
- Evaluating the process and perceived impact of the NHS Diabetes regional paediatric diabetes network coordinator
- Highlighting the value of the lead diabetes midwives network
- 'Join Us on Our Journey' – developing a new model of care for children and young people with Type 1 diabetes
- An independent evaluation of the user involvement in local diabetes care project
- Working in partnership to achieve high-quality diabetes care
- Capturing outcomes from the safe use of insulin e-learning module
